Lifeguard/Swim Lesson Instructor
RAPRD is currently hiring for opening, daytime, closing and weekend Lifeguard and Swim Instructors. Lifeguards/Swim lesson Instructors ensure the safety of patrons of RAPRD Aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies. We are hiring 3 – 4 part time positions for opening (4:30am - 9), daytime, weekends and closing shifts.
This position is responsible for:
-
Ensure the safety of swimmers and other patrons by monitoring the pool area and enforcing pool rules and regulations
-
Follow established rotation schedules
-
Maintain surveillance of patrons in the facility (even when off deck)
-
Provide first aid and CPR in case of emergencies and contact emergency services as needed
-
Appropriately enforce pool rules and regulations carefully and consistently
-
Conduct routine checks of the pool, including the water quality, temperature, and equipment, to ensure a safe and clean swimming environment.

Assist with opening the pool in the morning, including removing pool covers, setting up deck chairs, and cleaning the pool deck and surrounding areas (if scheduled to open)

Assist with closing the pool at the end of the day, including covering the pool, cleaning the pool deck, lobby, locker rooms, and surrounding areas (if scheduled to close)

Instructs swim lessons consistent with RAPRD standards
Lifeguards must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification. RAPRD offers certification classes throughout the year and we encourage those who are interested in becoming a lifeguard in the future to register for a class. RAPRD will reimburse the class fee for individuals who we hire within 90 days of successful completion of a certification class offered by RAPRD.
Minimum age requirement: 15
Starting Wage: $15.75-16.25 per hour (DOE)

CHILD WATCH ATTENDANT
Child Watch Attendant provides short-term, drop-off childcare for participants while their parent/guardian uses the recreation facility. The position ensures a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment by supervising children, facilitating age appropriate activities, and maintaining a clean and orderly Child Watch environment. We are currently hiring 3 - 4 part time positions.
This position is responsible for:

Ensuring a safe, supportive, and fun environment for children during short-term drop-off care.

Monitoring children closely during play, crafts, and group activities to ensure physical safety.

Sanitizing toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly.
-
Maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe Child Watch environment.
-
Planning, organizing, and supervising age‑appropriate activities.
-
Greet parents and guardians warmly and answer questions regarding Child Watch procedures.
Qualifications and requirements include:

Knowledge of infant and child development and basic care
-
Ability to work well with children and exercise patience, compassion and understanding with the.

Ability to accommodate varying needs of each individual child simultaneously.

Current certifications required:

Red Cross CPR/PR and Advanced First Aid

CUSTODIAN
This position is responsible for performing custodial and sanitation duties to provide clean and sanitary facilities for the District. This position may also perform small building maintenance tasks. We are currently hiring 1 - 2 part-time positions.
This position is responsible for:

Cleaning, janitorial, and sanitation duties at assigned facilities, including refilling supplies in restrooms.

Sweeping and/or power washing sidewalks, parking lots and pool decks.
-
Removing snow from sidewalks and entryways
-
Performing routine maintenance including unclogging sinks, drains and toilets,
-
Maintains floors including stripping waxing, polishing, buffing finished floors
Qualifications and requirements include:
-
Must be 18 years of age.
-
Knowledge of routine custodial practices and methods, including safety procedures, proper handling, operation and maintenance of equipment, cleaning supplies and basic building safety tasks.

Knowledge of safe and effective use and application of cleaning agents and solvents.

Custodial and/or facility maintenance experience preferred; OR
-
Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.

Beginning Wage: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR
The Fitness Instructor is responsible for teaching safe, engaging, and inclusive group fitness classes on land and/or in the water. Instructors develop lesson plans, maintain a high level of motivation and professionalism, adapt routines to participant needs, and ensure the safety and positive experience of all class participants.
This position requires strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to lead diverse fitness formats while fostering a welcoming, team‑oriented environment. We are currently looking for instructors who have certifications and experience in the following formats:

Pilates
-
Aquatic Fitness
-
Barre
-
Any high intensity cardio formats
Qualifications and requirements include:

Current Group Fitness certification required (ACE, AFAA, AEA, or equivalent).

Water aerobics experience preferred; minimum one year water fitness experience or equivalent for aquatic formats.

CPR/PR and Advanced First Aid certification required.
-
Experience teaching group fitness preferred; music cueing skills preferred.
Minimum age requirement: 18
Beginning Wage: $20.08 - $22.00 per hour

Facility Attendant
The Facility Attendant is responsible for monitoring public use of recreation facilities and/or assisting with programs, ensuring safe and enjoyable experiences
This position is responsible for:

Supervising patrons in programs and drop-in activities, while ensuring safe use of facilities

Set-up and break down equipment and facilities.

Cleaning, sanitizing, and storing equipment, furniture and misc. items.

Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining gyms, restrooms, playing fields, fitness area, and/or related facilities as needed.
Qualifications and requirements include:

16 years of age
-
CPR/PR and Advanced First Aid (must obtain CPR and First Aid certificates within 30 days of employment).

Must be avaialbe to work evenings and weekends.
Beginning Wage: $15.75 - $16.50 per hour (DOE)

Assistant Swim Coach
The RACE Assistant Swim Coach supports the Head Swim Coach in delivering high‑quality training, athlete development, and daily program operations. This position provides on‑deck coaching, assists with meet preparation, communicates with families, and helps maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive team environment. The Assistant Coach leads assigned training groups and contributes to program planning, alignment with District goals, aquatic safety standards, and USA Swimming expectations.
Starting Wage Range: $17.65 – $19.15

Sports Referee
Sports Referees are responsible for providing officiating services to specific sports competitions and providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive, yet safe, environment. Sports Referees are responsible for making immediate decisions based on program needs following district policy and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements for referees include:

Considerable knowledge of playing rules and regulations of specific sport required to do the job

Safety guidelines related to assignment

Possession of CPR/PR certificate and Advanced First Aid certificate issued by American Red Cross (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
