Facility Lead - Sports

​

Under minimal supervision, Facility Lead is responsible for maintaining order in and around the sports and recreation facilities.

​

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Administration: 

  • Maintaining appropriate records; submitting incident/injury reports: collecting fees as needed and reporting funds accurately.

Facility supervision: 

  • Supervises patrons in sports programs and ensures safe use of facilities; maintains security of facility

  • Sets up and breaks down equipment and facilities

  • Prepares, cleans, and maintains gyms, restrooms, playing fields, and/or related facilities as needed

  • Enforces all RAPRD policies, facility rules, and regulations as related to use of facilities by participants

  • Provides maintenance help and other general assistance before, during, and after sanctioned and non-sanctioned sporting events at various locations within district

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with defined emergency and accident procedures

  • Maintains an atmosphere of order emphasizing a positive environment, safety, and attainable goals

Communications/public relations:

  • Communicates with players, volunteers, coaches, and spectators regarding game information and

  • behavior, as needed

  • Makes and receives recommendations, comments, and suggestions in reference to recreation or sports programs and relays information to Recreation Manager/Sports Coordinator.

  • Receives and relays comments regarding grounds and/or facilities

  • Makes recommendations regarding purchasing needs for supplies and equipment

  • Is understood by others; communicates well and at ease one on one and in larger groups; can effectively communicate program and facility information rules, regulations, and policies to public and other staff as needed.

​

Qualifications:  High school diploma or equivalency; knowledge of leadership techniques and a wide variety of sports is required. Possession of a CPR/PR certificate issued by the American Red Cross; possession of an Advanced First Aid Certificate (must obtain CPR and First Aid certificate within 30 days of employment).

​

Working conditions:  Position functions require physical condition necessary for repeatedly moving up to 30 pounds throughout the day, and/or remaining stationary for extended periods of time; must be physically able to move and position self quickly during emergency operations. Work includes indoor and outdoor environments.  Possibly working in inclement weather.

​

Working Hours:  Evenings and weekends; 15 – 25 hours per week depending on the sports season. 

Wages:  $15.53 - $17.00 per hour depending on experience.

Receptionist/Customer Support Specialist

Centennial Park Kiosk

 

The Customer Support Specialist is the first-line, in person contact for District customers at the Centennial Park Kiosk.  The ideal candidate enjoys meeting and serving people.

 

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Willingness to interact with the general public,

  • Using computer skills to sell concessions and create records,

  • Handling conflicts with patrons, as needed,

  • Doing water checks, and

  • Cleaning the patio area.

 

Computer skills, cash handling skills, janitorial upkeep of the kiosk area, and emergency care as required are all a part of this position. Possession of CPR/PR certificate and Advanced First Aid certificate issued by American Red Cross must be obtained within 30 days.

Receptionist/Customer Support Specialist

 

The Customer Support Specialist is the first-line contact for District customers through the telephone, email and in person.  The ideal candidate has exceptional communication and organizational skills with special attention to detail and accuracy.

 

The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Willingness to interact with the general public,

  • Effectively communicating program and facility information, rules and regulations,

  • Effectively registering customers for programs,

  • Handles conflicts with patrons, as needed,

  • Cash handling and cash till balancing, and

  • Works the Kiosk in Centennial Park during the summer months.

 

Computer skills, filing, janitorial upkeep of the office area, and emergency care as required are all a part of this position.  This position reports to the Administrative Services Manager. Possession of CPR/PR certificate and Advanced First Aid certificate issued by American Red Cross must be obtained within 30 days.

Position Available:  4/17/2024

Hours:  This is a part-time position of usually 10-15 hours, nights and weekends. During Kiosk hours of

              operation hours can increase to 25 or more and with some day shifts available.

Wages: $14.75 - $15.50 hourly, depending on experience.

​Aquatic Wellness Instructors

 

Have you always wanted to help people be healthy and happy? Do you want to be part of an amazing team of fitness professionals providing wellness opportunities in our community? RAPRD has openings for you to join our fantastic Aquatic Wellness Team. Aquatic Wellness instructors are responsible for overseeing the safety of water aerobics patrons while instructing a dynamic, safe and constructive hour long water fitness class. The instructor is expected to maintain a high level of motivation in classes while exhibiting friendly, kind, energetic, outgoing, and enthusiastic qualities.

​

​Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: 

  1. Conducting prepared water aerobics classes that offer challenging and educational routines and assists patrons with health and fitness goals; continues to grow in knowledge of fitness and exercise related topics; and always maintains a high level of motivation and enthusiasm.

  2. Plans for each class and comes prepared with a routine and a back-up routine; adapt the routine as necessary to the needs of the patrons including adaptations to music, choreography, equipment, modality intensity and directionality.

  3. For the Aquatic Program:  you will record and maintain attendance records; observes and monitors participants during the workout; sets up facility, equipment, stores equipment and secures facility upon completion of class; enforces aquatic rules and policies.

 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

Minimum of one year water aerobics experience or equivalent; possession of CPR/PR certificate of Advanced First Aid issued by the American Red Cross; possession of current AEA, Personal Trainer or Group Fitness certification preferred but not required to start the job.

Certified Fitness Instructor

​

RAPRD is currently accepting applications for a Certified Fitness Instructor for Group Exercise Programs. Fitness Instructor is responsible for teaching low impact formatted classes and/or specific weight training classes, supervising class participants and leading instructional sessions. General Group Fitness certification required. Experience teaching is preferred. Music cueing experience is preferred.

Sports Referee

​

Sports Referees are responsible for providing officiating services to specific sports competitions and providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive, yet safe, environment. Sports Referees are responsible for making immediate decisions based on program needs following district policy and procedures.

Qualifications and requirements for referees include:

  • Considerable knowledge of playing rules and regulations of specific sport required to do the job

  • Safety guidelines related to assignment

  • Possession of CPR/PR certificate and Advanced First Aid certificate issued by American Red Cross (must be obtained within 30 days of employment).

​

RAPRD is accepting applications for the Cascade Swim Center lifeguards/swim instructors.

​

Education and industry exposure minimums include:

  • recent lifeguarding experience preferred

  • possession of CP/AEDR certificate / Advanced First Aid Certificate issued by American Red Cross

  • possession of Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate
