Welcome to the RedmondArea Park &Recreation District
July is Park and Recreation Month
America has celebrated July as the nation's official Park and Recreation Month since 1985. Park and Recreation Month specifically highlights the vital role local parks and recreation, such as RAPRD and City of Redmond Parks Department, play in conservation, health and wellness and social equity efforts in communities all across the country. Then them this year is Out is In, making 2014 the year people go outside, change their outlook and get involved in their community through parks and recreation. As part of this month's celebration, RAPRD is highlighting some of their outdoor programs including, Summer in the Park, Camp Tamarack, Gardening and Horseback Riding.
You the Community have the opportunity to participate in a park and recreation photo contest hosted by RAPRD and City of Redmond. We are looking for digital images taken during the month of July that celebrates RAPRD and City of Redmond parks and programs. We are especially interested in images that showcase the parks and recreatio programs and people recreating at the parks and involved in recreation programs offered by RAPRD. Community members can take photos of themselve recreating in local parks or participating in an outdoor recreation program to further encourage community members to get out in our local parks. Photo judging catagories are RAPRD programs, favorite park and favorite activity. Prizes will be awarded for the top two photos in each category.
Digital photos will be accepted until August 3, 2014 and must be submitted at the following location: https://fs30.formsite.com/raprd/contest/index.html.
