cover The sun is shining and the weather is changing. The Redmond Ice Skating Rink has closed down for the season. Spring Soccer Recreational League, Spring Soccer Cheerleading and Spring Soccer Developmental League have a registration deadline of this Saturday, February 21st. If you haven't signed up, now is the time. This is a league your children won't want to miss out on.

You'll want to get a team together and join the 2015 Adult Kickball League. This league will run from April 7th to 30th with games every Tuesday and Thursday. The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 18th.

Our 2015 Men's Competitive Softball League and Co-Ed Softball League will run from May through July and games will be played at the High Desert Sports Complex. The Men's Competitive League will have umpires provided. Both leagues will have playoff games. Registration deadline is Tuesday, April 14th. Start gathering your team.

A new upcoming activity for the 16 and above crowd is our "Hiking Central Oregon." Grab your friends, come out, meet some new friends and enjoy organized hikes at Gray Butte to Smith Rock Trail, McKenzie River Trail, Tumalo Falls and Steelhead Falls. Wear sturdy shoes for walking, bring plenty of water and don't forget your camera. You will have great photo opportunities along the hike.

For all ages we have our 2015 Earth Day Sculpture Contest on April 25th. This contest will take creativity, inspiration and transforming trash to treasure. This will be an epic day of sculpture building with teams of two going head-to-head. Who will become the Earth Day Champions? April will also be the opening of the Redmond Community Garden. Are you ready to have the best garden ever this year? Grow your own salads, fresh herbs and more. This will not only be a fun endeavor but will impress your family and provide healthy, organically grown foods. May 2015 is National Bike Month. Set aside May 9th to join us in celebration. Mark your calendar and start training for the Rat Race 2015, August 8th. Check out the details and sign up at www.racetherat.com.
