Youth Sports

RAPRD believes that youth sports play an important part in the development of young people in our community.  We offer programs that provide a positive quality experience which promotes a fun family environment.  We want participants to learn good sportsmanship and have fun while mandating that every player have equal playing time.  We want our participants to learn good sportsmanship and to have fun in a controlled competitive environment. Our coaches are trained to go the “extra mile” to understand and offer positive help to all players.

Drop-in Basketball/Open Gym - All ages. Pick up a game or come shoot some hoops at the RAPRD Activity Center every evening after aerobics. Check our weekly schedule for availability. Click for details.

Batting Cage - Come swing in our indoor batting cage by the token or the hour. Available throughout the day, check out the schedule for full availability and closures. Must wear closed-toed shoes. Click for details.

fenciblesYouth Fencing-Elementary Foil - Ages 9-15. Explore the challenging and exciting sport of fencing offered by RAPRD with the training provided by Fencibles in Bend. Participants will be instructed in the basic footwork of fencing, blade work and tactics so you can enjoy the sport in a safe manner. Equipment will be provided. Click for details.

Spring Soccer -  Grades PreK-4th. Kick, dibble and pass your way through our six week recreational soccer league. The season is from April 7th to May 12th. All games are played at the High Desert Sports Complex on Saturday. PAYS orientation required prior to registration. Registration deadline is Wednesday, February 22nd. Click for details.

Spring Soccer Cheerleading - Grades 1st-8th. Cheer on our recreational soccer games and get the crowd going with enthusiasm. Cheerleading runs concurrently with spring soccer and games on Saturday. PAYS orientation required prior to registration. Registration deadline is Wednesday, February 22nd.    Click for details.

Oregon Rush Soccer Spring 2012 - Grades 5th-8th. Join the Oregon Rush Soccer Club for a season of developmental (beginner to intermediate) soccer this Spring. Eight league games on weekends, all in Central Oregon and at least half in Redmond. Fee includes a Nike Dri-FIT uniform, a pre-season jamboree and a post-season award. Click for details.

Volleyball Camp - Grades 3rd-6th. Spike, bump, serve and set your way into 4 weeks of fun while learning the fundamentals of the game. Each day will focus on a different element of the game, culminating into a fun scrimmage on the last day using all the skills learned. Boys and girls encouraged to play. Click for details.


Tumbling/Beginning Gymnastics - Ages 6-10. Participants will begin with basic gymnastic floor exercises such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands and low balance beam. Click for details.

taekwondo picAcrovision Taekwondo - Ages 6 and up. Taekwon-Do class taught at the RAPRD Activity Center provides an opportunity for students to train in a complete martial arts system. This class provides an opportunity for students to learn respect, Korean culture, discipline, fitness, self-defense and provides a means for enhancing self-confidence. Uniforms are required and will be available for purchase at the first class. Click for details.

Discover Scuba Diving - February 11th
Have you ever wondered what it is like to breathe underwater? This is your opportunity to try scuba in the comfort of the Cascade Swim Center pool. This one day class provides participants both land and water based training. It includes an introduction to scuba gear, information about basic safety and the chance to don gear and get in the water. If you ever wondered about scuba diving, this is the perfect opportunity to try it without a long-term commitment. RAPRD is proud to offer this class in conjunction with Central Oregon Diving. Bend Rock Gym

Grades 1st-5th. Pinch, crimp and pull your way to the top. The professionals at Bend Rock Gym will show novice climbers the ropes. Transportation will be provided from the RAPRD Activity Center. Click for details.
