Where We Live

Redmond Area Park and Recreation District was incorporated on July 8, 1975 for the purpose of providing park and recreation facilities for the residents residing within the boundaries of the district.  At this time, the district's facilities include the Cascade Swim Center and CSC Park, the RAPRD Activity Center, the High Desert Sports Complex, Borden Beck Park, and undeveloped parks at Majestic Ridge in Redmond and outside the city limits at Tetherow Crossing.

RAPRD offers recreational programs for the greater Redmond, Oregon community.  We serve the communities of Redmond, Terrebonne, and Tumalo.   The mission of the district is to develop and enhance recreation facilities and opportunities for the communities we serve. 

The district will begin development of the Majestic Summit Park in 2009.  This neighborhood park is planned to have a picnic area, small playground and walking trails. 

The district offers a variety of recreation programs.  These include youth and adult sports, before and after school programs, red cross classes, art classes, swim lessons and many others.  Please look though our recreation guide for all of our offerings.

In fulfilling its mission the district operates five facilities in the Redmond area.

Who We Are

The RAPRD office, Cascade Swim Center and Activity Center are staffed by these hard working individuals. Our staff works diligently to create community activities and sports for all ages to enjoy.

What We Believe

Mission Statement

The Redmond Area Park and Recreation District shall contribute to the community through quality aquatic and recreation programs, facilities, parks and open spaces. To accomplish this goal the staff shall:

• Provide opportunities for fun by offering individual and family oriented activities.
• Offer programs that enhance self-esteem and well being.
• Encourage and reward participation over abilities for novice participants.
• Encourage an appreciation for the natural environment.
• Provide quality athletic experiences appropriate to age and ability.
• Ensure recreation opportunities for all ages and abilities.
• Ensure responsible stewardship of our financial resources, park and natural areas.

Vision Statement

The Staff and Board of Directors at Redmond Area Park and Recreation District shall develop long range goals and plans to enhance the recreation resources and opportunities to its patrons. We will achieve this by:

• Maintaining a systematic and balanced approach to planning, development, and rehabilitation of parks and recreation facilities.
• Promoting partnerships within the community for using facility and program resources to meet the growing demands for recreational and leisure services.
• Using citizens and patrons in collaborative processes to establish and focus priorities.
• Cooperate with the City’s investment in parks, open space, and recreational facilities, emphasizing user safety, accessibility, aesthetic quality and education.
